What is "The Delta"?

The Mobile-Tensaw Delta is a vast wetlands region north of Alabama's Mobile Bay, an extremely biologically rich web of streams, swamps, bayous, lakes, floodplans and forests created by the confluence of the Tombigbee and Alabama Rivers.

The Delta is between 45 miles long and ranges from six to 16 miles in width, totaling around 300 square miles of natural habitat for a great many species of animals and plants.
